Deaths - Tribute
We were deeply saddened to learn of the sudden death of our comrade Arnaud Millien (SEA 1994).
In his preparatory classes at Janson de Sailly, at ENSAE and then in the various statistician-economist positions he held, Arnaud always combined sensitivity and a thirst for understanding the world, with objectivity and a real passion for modeling.
After an impressive period of military service on the Frégate Georges Leygues, he pursued his career in the corporate world, while remaining in touch with the academic world: as a lecturer at university, and as a member of the ENSAE alumni association, where he edited the journal Variances at the turn of the century.
He always found the energy to get involved in the social sciences, and was never at a loss for new data analysis techniques or the regulatory aspects of banking.
After some twenty years in the corporate world (including: Cofidis, NCR, CIF), Arnaud had returned to teaching, which led him to defend his doctoral thesis in 2019, "Access to electricity and economic development: Determinants of favorable impacts for households " https://www.theses.fr/2019PA01E038
Since 2020, Arnaud had been working at Franfinance.
His funeral will be held at Saint Marguerite church in Le Vésinet, on Thursday October 26 at 11:30 am.
Cremation will take place the same day, at 3pm, at the Nanterre crematorium.
