Early Stage Investing for Social Impact" conference

How do social investors gain financial return whilst also making social and environmental impact?

The Columbia Alumni Business Angel Network in London is pleased to invite you to a conference on "Early Stage Investing for Social Impact".

Suzanne Biegel and Maggie Loo, two of London's experienced social impact investors, will share their experiences of social impact investing, from angel investing to venture. Topics will include:
  • Where is the value in socially motivated investing, in comparison to traditional angel and early-stage venture investing?
  • What are the characteristics of social investors?
  • What do they social investors look for in entrepreneurs?
  • How do social investors find impact investing opportunities?
You will also have the opportunity to hear the perspective of compelling social entrepreneurs including Abhi Naha, Founder of Zone V, creating mobile handsets/apps for the blind and visually impaired and aging markets.
The panel will include:
  • Suzanne Biegel (Wharton '84), Senior Advisor at ClearlySo, Catalyst at Large
  • Maggie Loo (CBS '05), Business Development Manager at Bridges Venture
  • Abhi Naha, Founder of Zone V

Schedule: 1 hour Q&A session followed by a networking session (drinks and canapés will be provided).
