Lionel VIGLINO, INSEE Administrator, has been appointed Head of the "Sampling and Statistical Data Processing" Division in INSEE's Demographic and Social Statistics Directorate. He succeeds Vincent LOONIS. Lionel VIGLINO, 47, ENSAE 1993, began his career in 1986 in Rwanda as a teacher at the Institut Africain et Mauricien de Statistique et d'Économie Appliquée (IAMSEA). Since 2004, he has been in charge of the Consumer Prices Division at INSEE. In this capacity, he was in charge of the IT project to draw the index sample. He has led a number of cooperation projects, particularly in South America, on inflation calculation, and has also assisted the territorial statistics institutes of Polynesia and New Caledonia, as well as the prefectures of Wallis and Futuna and St Pierre and Miquelon.
