As we begin 1998, I'd like to take this opportunity to offer you and your loved ones my very best wishes for the year ahead.
I think it's safe to say that I'm also speaking on behalf of my fellow members of the Board.
1998 promises to be marked by two major events: the opening up of the telecoms market and the soccer World Cup. That's why we thought it would be appropriate to open the year with a dossier devoted to the first theme - sorry for the football fans, and I know there were a lot of them at the School,
The fact is that more than one of us works or has worked in the field of telecommunications: thanks to the participation of some of you, this issue will attempt to shed both theoretical and strategic light on the field of telecoms and data networks in all their forms. It's too vast a field, of course, to be covered in a single issue; nevertheless, we thought that Ensae alumni would shed some interesting light on the subject,
Now let's talk about the association. The relationship we've established with our new management company will enable us to gradually make up for the delay in publishing the yearbook (for which we apologize), and once again offer you regular publication of Variances, whose next theme will be devoted to the Euro, echoing the colloquium organized in 1997.
Above all, Variances remains a forum dedicated to you, an organ of liaison. So please do not hesitate to send us your publications, suggestions and information, to my address or that of the School,
