Interim manager: job or necessity?

Because it is unrealistic to manage day-to-day operations while at the same time carrying out the necessary restructuring, development or performance improvement projects, Transition Management is an effective solution for companies. This profession, which is still not very widespread in France, involves entrusting the management of major projects to a high-calibre manager from outside the company, whose sole aim is to successfully complete the assignment within the allotted timeframe. ENSAE alumni are likely to be interested in this new profession in two ways: either by calling on it to lead transformation projects within their companies, or to carry out assignments themselves, if they so choose. Joël Templier (1972), began his career in an engineering company, SETEC, before becoming a consultant and then partner at KPMG Peat Marwick, then at Computer Sciences Corporation. At X-PM Transition Partners, which he joined in 2006, Joël is more specifically in charge of developing Transition Management activities in the Information Systems field.
