Is the crisis really over?
At a time when the markets seem to be betting on a V-shaped recovery, most experts are still waiting and hoping. Is the crisis really over? Or have our elites sown the seeds of a new catastrophe in the making? For the time being, many are trying to pinpoint where the blame lies. Fingers are now being pointed at economists and financiers. Challenging the financing of the economy by the stock market and financial markets, accused of predatory logic, promoting national ideas without automatic alignment with international standards, favoring "small is good", seeking out the hidden realities in the real economy (deregulation doesn't guarantee competition, and financial markets don't care about that...), defending the interests and values of local communities.), and defending Europe's interests and values - these are all rather provocative positions defended by Jean-Luc Gréau, with a focus on the Scandinavian model of society, which departs from the neo-liberal model.
Jean-Luc Gréau, economist and consultant, former chief economist at MEDEF, is also the author of L'avenir du capitalisme (2005), which predicted the current crisis.
