A few lessons from 45 years on the stock market
At a time of trackers, high-frequency trading and recurring financial crises and tensions, and in the face of the profusion of non-stop the profusion of non-stop information that keeps the markets in a frenzy, it can be salutary to take a step back from the changes that the stock markets have undergone. How have markets changed over the past 30 years? Can past crises and generations teach us some salutary lessons? How can we distance ourselves from the continuous flow of news, how can we process information and weigh it up? Finally, how do the French view the equity markets today? Has the crisis turned everything upside down? Jean-Pierre Gaillard, an emblematic figure on the Paris stock exchange for decades, was a journalist and TV host of the program "La Bourse et Votre Argent" on LCI; he hosted thousands of columns and debates on radio and TV.vision; he was also the director of "la Cote Bleue", a financial press agency; he has been following stock market fluctuations for over 40 years; he was notably an actor and spectator of the changes in European markets in the 80s and 90s. Drawing on this experience, he will give us his insight and personal feelings on the troubled times that the markets and the economy are going through today.
